Growing 2–3 meters tall, its broad blue-green pads provide a dramatic structural element.
The fruit is incredibly juicy with a flavor reminiscent of watermelon and berries, while the young pads (Nopales) can be grilled for a savory treat.
Used these as a 'living fence' on the edge of my property. They look amazing and are basically impossible to kill. Just wear thick gloves!
The fruit is much better than store-bought ones. I used a blowtorch to singe off the tiny spines—worked like a charm!
